D-DAY 80 AT BLETCHLEY PARK
"D-DAY INTERCEPTION, INTELLIGENCE, INVASION"
Visit Bletchley Park to experience D-D80, now 80 years on.
We watched the commemorations on television and listened to the veterans' stories. Some of them still cannot speak about their experience on that day as it is still too raw, even 80 years on.
Bletchley Park is home to the code-breakers, and it offers a cinematic experience and research into its covert D-Day role. Did you know that Operation Overlord was the codename for the largest amphibious landing? On 6 June 1944, thousands of Allied troops landed on the Normandy coastline.
At Bletchley Park, you can learn about the planning of this operation, how Bletchley Park planned the ultra intelligence and the outcome.
Today, 6 June, look to the sky as a USAF Flypast MC-130J Commando II from the USAF 352nd Special Operations Wing will fly over Bletchley Park on the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The estimated time of the flyover is 14:00 - 14:30 hours, and it is expected to travel over The Mansion, Bletchley Park, Sherwood Drive, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK3 6EB.
